Eyewear has not been this important in a decade. Demand for Chanel sunglasses rose 70% in a single quarter this year, according to Lyst, and oversized frames ranked among the most wanted fashion items of the season.
But most trend lists are written to be forgotten by autumn. This one is not. Below are the seven shapes that will still look right in five years, and the exact pairs we would buy for each, from Celine, Miu Miu, Prada, Tom Ford and more.

The oversized square
Big, black and slightly squared off. This is the most confident shape of the year and the fastest way to make a simple outfit look intentional.
Look for thick, glossy acetate, dark lenses and a strong temple. Then let the frame do all the work.

Slim ovals & rectangles
The counterpoint to oversized: narrow, low and close to the face, with a nineties attitude. Slim frames are easier to wear than they look and suit most face shapes.
If you buy one fashion pair this year, make it this one. With a brown blazer and slicked-back hair, it is the most current look in eyewear.

Fine metal, seventies-style
Thin metal frames with tinted lenses are back. They feel lighter than acetate, sit beautifully with summer linen and tailoring, and add polish without shouting.
Gold with green or brown lenses is the warmest and most classic combination, as on the Prada PR B54S. Silver reads cooler and more modern.

Transparent & light
The quiet trend of the year. Smoky, see-through grey acetate and pale, almost clear lenses look expensive, work with every skin tone and feel more modern than black.
Prada has made transparent grey a signature, and it works just as well on optical frames like the Tom Ford FT6150-B.

The sculptural cat-eye
Cat-eyes this year are less retro and more architectural: thick acetate, lifted corners and unexpected details. They sharpen the face instantly and pair perfectly with a soft blazer.
Choose a subtle lift for every day, or go fully sculptural when you want the frame to be the outfit.

Sport frames, worn as fashion
Wraparound sport sunglasses have moved from the cycling road to the street. Worn with tailoring or a plain white T-shirt, they look deliberate and current.
Oakley owns this look: shield lenses, sculpted frames and Prizm lens technology that sharpens colour and contrast.

Tortoise optical, worn as an accessory
Glasses are no longer something you put up with. In 2026 they are part of the outfit: a warm havana frame, clear lenses and a small gold detail at the temple, worn with soft grey knits.
Every optical frame we sell can be fitted with your prescription, made in Montreal and usually ready in one to two business days.

The one that never leaves
Trends come and go; the black Wayfarer stays. With a black blazer and gold earrings it is still the most effortless look in eyewear, seventy years after it first appeared.
The Original Wayfarer is the classic size. The Mega Wayfarer gives the same shape more presence, in line with this year’s bigger frames.
